ABS plastic repair

Post by 888GoldDragon »

Thanks to Goldwingdocs YouTube videos :)
I repaired some bad cracks and badly broken plastic. Now I’m not perfect, but with a little sanding and paint it will look new.

Good start, ABS is very easy to work with as you are finding out. Had a similar issue with my ex-1500, Pearl Glacier White paint. Did the same side panel, painted it and put back on looked great. Only issue was this panel now looked great and the rest of the bike looked dated. Ended up giving the 1500 a complete paint job, including the accent trim - was a great C-19 project.

Painting will not be problematic. Looks like your colour is the gold/brown similar to my '85 Limited Edition. Colour code is available at a good automotive paint store. Custom spray cans can be made, or if you prefer a paint spray gun - paint is available. I have the paint code labels from my '85 Limited Edition paint job, did it as well as a C-19 project.

Good luck, look forward to the finished product.
