Opener rod snap
I just completed a rear tire swap on my 1998 Goldwing and lost one of the snaps that release the side bag doors. The part number is 81317-mn5-003. Does anyone on here have one or a pair they would part with? Have been online and called dealer with no luck. Thank you.

Re: Opener rod snap
If you can't find one online, this is a perfect application for having something custom 3D printed.

Thanks for the quick feedback. After I posted I looked some more and found one at Motosport.

Re: Opener rod snap
Unfortunately Motosport can't get the part either. I ordered a couple of these clips just in case I needed a new one and the order was cancelled today.
It looks like a different method for attaching the opener cable will have to be devised. Like WingAdmin says, maybe a 3D printer job.
Here's what they had to say:
"We have some unfortunate news regarding your order.
We submitted a purchase order for your items after you placed your order and it was reported that all items were available but on backorder. We just received word from our vendor that items you ordered are now discontinued and are no longer available for purchase. You have not and will not be charged for the items. We're truly sorry for the delay and inconvenience caused by this.
The discontinued item(s) are as follows:
Honda OEM Parts SNAP, OPENER ROD (MITSUI), Honda Part, 81317-MN5-003
We have taken these discontinued items off your order, thank you for your understanding in this matter and again we apologize for any issues caused by this.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us!

Re: Opener rod snap
Have you been successful finding the part you need? I wasn’t sure which part you needed. Is it a rod or the white snap on the end of the cable? Ride safe, Joe

Re: Opener rod snap
The original poster was looking for the white snap on the end of the cable.

Re: Opener rod snap
I musnt be too difficult to manufacture by yourself if you have a sample and a piece of plastic using a drill, dremel tool and a file.
