Led headlights

Post by chouston99 »

I just installed led headlight bulbs on my 94 gl1500. I was wondering if it is ok to install the original rubber dust cover boots over the new led bulbs?
Thanks

If they are the fan less ones, then yes, you can.
If they have fans, probably not without modification.

The LED bulbs I have used on motorcycles are fan less and fit exactly the same as the halogen bulbs they replaced, so I put the boot back on.

If there is a finned heat sink I wouldn't. Heat kills LEDs.

Maybe depends on bulb. Led install on my bike allow for the boots.

I put AUXBEAM LEDs in the headlights in November 2018.I believe the fanless heat sinks fit outside the rubber boot. Have bad zero issues with them.
