Cruise Control

Post by pauljanp »

HIi ALL

I live in Denmark and just traded my GL1200 to a 1995 Gl1500 SE with sidecar ad camper.
My problem is that whenever I activate the Cruise Control, the speed drops about 4-5 mph and then it speeds up to the set speed.
Anybody have the same experience and know a fix?

I have noticed that the cruise control on my 88 holds a little bit less than what I set it to, but 4-5mph seems like a lot. You could try to replace the cruise control air filter, it and the "secondary" filters dry out and rot pretty bad and might affect how the cruise control system works. Does the bike run fine otherwise?

Here's a how-to article on replacing those cruise and secondary air filters: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=11036

Try to learn from the mistakes of others..... you won't live long enough to make them all yourself!
