snapping sound when starting warm

Post by Ferdy »

I just picked up a 1990 gl1500 with a Motor Trike conversion. The bike has 29,000 miles on it. When I start it warm I hear a snap, almost like an arc or a spark jumping. It dosent make that noise cold and even when she is warm and makes that sound it still fire right up. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance, Dave.

My 1998 two wheeler does it too. It is the starter solenoid snapping. Normal.

Mine does it as well, comes from the left side of the bike.

Always wondered what it was, but never asked.

Mine does it as well. Selenoid is the sound machine here.
