Bike won’t start

Post by 2wingit »

I have a 1992 GL 1500 Aspencad. I shut the bike off to get gas. when I went to start it I turn the key headlights came on dash lights came on when I hit the start button everything went dead including dash and headlights. is there a relay on the bike that causes this if it goes bad. I tried to start a relay it’s not that.

There is a master "dogbone" fuse that can crack. It won't look blown, but will fall to pieces when you take it out. Otherwise, get a test light and check power and grounds.

Check your battery cables, clean and tighten them properly. I have seen that on cars as well as bikes. Dirty or loose connections on the battery will do exactly what you are describing.
