I have a 1994 GL 1500 SE that sat up for about 13 yrs. I charged it up and it started on the 3rd try. On my test drive, it died on me and wouldn't start. It's not charging for some reason. Also, the cruise control light is on, and I'm unable to turn it off. Any ideas?
Thanks, Stuart

Re: `1994 GL 1500 charging issues
Cruise switch is gunked up, a common problem. Usually stuck off. Stuck on is not really a problem.
Did you put in a new battery?
1500s need almost perfect AGM batteries to start reliably.
Measure the charging voltage @ 2000 rpm before condemning the alternator. Measure current into a dummy load if you are able to.

Thanks, R/B
I've got a new battery; it starts with a jump. Will give your suggestions a try.
Many thanks, Stuart
