Raked Triple Tree

Post by agedbikeman »

With raked triple trees costing almost 1000 bucks, I found this on Ebay

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354166878699 ... R_qGq7vdYA

It's a raked triple tree in 6 or 4 degree costing around 500 bucks, but made in China, has anyone else seen this or even bought one? can a critical component like this be trusted knowing it's origin?

All opinions welcome

if you like the forks to flop at low speed, by all means spend more money. if yu think honda engineers are idiots, spend more money. if you want more rake, and not be able to turn around on the highway, .................i think you get it now..........

I think it the same for any thing you buy not Knowing. I see you have a Insta trike kit you shouldn't need one on there as you haven't altered the rake on the bike Plus if you take the kit off the handling will be bad at low speeds

Thanks Rambozo for setting it right, I forgot to add it was triked.
Update
I ditched the towpac kit a few weeks ago and bought one made in Portugal for reasons I'll not go into here. The steering is heavy, but not as heavy as the towpac kit especially when I'm touring 2 up. I will NEVER ride without trike kit, I'm 74, too short for a 1500 with good suspension and way too weak to handle it safely due to hip problems, so it's triked for good as far as I'm concerned.

Having now put the records straight, maybe someone out there can answer my question.

Any valid opinion welcome

on a trike, i would want less rake. too much rake gives symptoms i listed above, trike or motorcycle.

I was going to write a response about why you want to rake a trike, but realized that I already wrote one ten years ago - you can see it here: Rake a Trike?
