I go with what honda recommends, i think 36 front 41 rear

Sounds good. That's what I've been setting them at ever since I bought the bike new. I just thought that possibly over the years the technology/tires might have changed thus requiring different settings.

I've been running 40 front / 44 rear on E4's with good results.

36/38. Your tires are going to wear no matter what you do. I like a little more rubber on the road and the "extra" wear add up to very little.

Usually run 40-42 front/ 42-44 rear. When visit local hd shop for inspection they always air down to 36psi like they helping me out. 40 front is nice but 42 is nicer although can sometimes feel like a little too firm. Not notice much if at all with these pressure on 2 lane roads or highway but notice very much when riding low speeds bike handles much nicer.

When I had my Elite 4, I ran 40/42. Got 11,000 miles from the rear, 13,000 from the front with no odd wearing on it
Now that I am double darkside (Kenda K671 rear tire on the front, Maxxis Taxi tire on the rear) I am running 40/50

32 in the front? Wow, I hate how the bike feels with anything less than 36 in the front, 40 is better.

I have a little 1" ledge getting onto my driveway, and have been using that as a gauge for when my tires are a little low (no I don't check my tires before every ride, I ride almost daily). About once a month I check and need to add a few psi, but there have been times that as I come up my drive, I feel the lip a little different than usual, and I tend to be a little low.

Start with 34 / 40. Ride 50 miles IN TOWN, then put another 2 PSI in the front. Rinse, repeat, up to 40 psi OR when it doesn't feel like an improvement, whichever comes first. Ride that for a few miles, then start dropping front 2 PSI at a time. You'll find your preference in there somewhere.

Having a harder front tire improves control at lower speeds, but can also make the ride rough.

I really notice no difference now.
The Maxxis Taxi tire is a little rounder profile than some other darkside options, so not quite as drastic of a transition while leaning vs some other darkside tires.
While it definitely different, not enough to bother me.
Once I got adjust the rear pressure to 50 psi, it was not an issue (I did not like how the bike rode at all at 44 psi, it was unsafe).
I would say the E4's are maybe a bit sportier than the double dark setup I have now.
While I think the E4 is a great tire, I will stick with the Maxxis when the time comes for a new rear tire.
If not going darkside, I would probably get E4's again based on my previous run, even with them costing so much.

With the Kenda rear tire I have on the front, I am not happy with it, it started cupping in under 3000 miles, and has a bad wobble from 35-45 mph (I am using balance beads, so it is not a balance issue).
Other speeds it is just fine, up to about 95mph, then it starts to shake a little again, but that just reminds me to slow down.

I was wanting to try something besides the Battleax everyone else uses, but that was a mistake.
I should have gone with the crowd on this one.
I will keep this Kenda on for a while longer (I have just over 4,000 miles on it now), but do not expect to get near the mileage I got out of the E4.

I'm on my second set of E4's now and at about 14k miles on them. They're still looking goo and probably got another 5-6k. I've ordered my next set from WingStuff, but they've been out of stick for a few months now and I still haven't received notification of them getting any. I've actually cut back a little on my riding this year to keep from wearing out this set before the new tires come in. The first set got about 20-21k.

I run 2-3 pounds over Honda's recommended pressures, so about 39-40 up front and 43-44 in the back. This is solo or two up.
