Broken gearbox

Post by jaimemu »

Last July in Italy, (I live in Spain), I had a breakdown in the gearbox, when I put it in first gear, it made a very loud noise (like a loose part), I left the bike in Italy and I have returned to Spain. They are going to bring me the motorcycle in the next few days.
At the moment I don't know what it could be.
I have looked in the article of the gl 1500 and I have not seen anything.
I guess the gearbox will have to be removed. How is it done?
As soon as I have the bike I will be able to see what it is, but I want to start knowing what it could be

Once you have your bike back home you will have to do more troubleshooting.

The gearbox on a GL1500 is not separate from the engine, the gears are all in the crankcase of the engine.

Once you have it home again, start the engine, find out what it does do, and what it doesn't do and describe in detail. Then we can advise......
