1998 1500 shut down
Why does my wing shut off at highway speed, light up all lights on right side of dash ( fuel, oil, cruise, etc.), then a second or so later, a pop from exhaust and running again. Several times in a 100 or so mile trip??

It sounds like you're losing electrical power. Like a battery failing, fuse failing, battery cable, something causing ALL power to go off intermittently. Everything shuts off for an instant, then it comes on and the dash goes through its initiation routine. At the same time the ECU loses power so it stops sparking the spark plugs. Once the ECU resets and starts seeing signal from the crank sensors, it starts sending spark again. The unburned gasoline that got pumped through the engine and into the exhaust lights off as well, and that's where you get the pop from the exhaust.eichenseer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 8:48 am Why does my wing shut off at highway speed, light up all lights on right side of dash ( fuel, oil, cruise, etc.), then a second or so later, a pop from exhaust and running again. Start checking your battery, battery cables (power and ground), master fuse, relays. Wiggle them while monitoring the voltage. Remove the master fuse to ensure it doesn't have a small crack in it.
