Radio

Does the 1988 GL 1500 have a sub harness for the radio? Or is the radio plugs wired into the main radio harness if that's the case does anybody have a wire harness they'd be willing to cut the radio plugs?

The main radio harness plugs directly into the stereo, I don't believe there's a sub-harness unless it's hidden elsewhere under the top shell the radio sits in.

I have a ongoing project to retrofit a touchscreen into where the radio was and went hunting for the plugs as well, because I'd like to not cut my stock harness. In the process I did find this European site that sells both sides of the plugs, I believe these are the correct ones for our bikes (I also have an 88) and I did order a couple, but have not actually opened up the bike to test them, so I can't guarantee they are. But it might be an option if you can't find the harness/plugs elsewhere:

I believe Mouser also has that plug in the US

You can also get it right from the manufacturer, TE Connectivity.
