Engine replacement

Post by cinoc »

Hello, I'm changing from a 95 gl1500 engine to a 91 engine and was wondering if I could just plug the water ports on the carburetor or replace the water pump with a newer version?

Someone just posted that the seal location is different on newer water pumps and it leaked. I don't recall if it was a new pump into an older engine or the other way round. In theory you don't even need to plug the empty water lines, except to keep insects out  .
