left side coil over shock on a 1997 se.

Post by lisagl »

my left side shock has leaked out all its oil. Looking for recommendation for what kind of shock i can use to replace it. Shock is unavailable through Honda.

Curious about this too, feeling like mine is probably pretty worn out. My rear air shock still seals well and feels good, I'd like to keep it if possible. I hear the Progressive 416 kit replaces both rear shocks/springs with air springs, but when I look up the 416 kit on Progressive's website it does not indicate it's compatible with the GL1500, but it might be and just not properly labeled in their site?

Hagon will build a shock for that application.

Have you called Progressive? At one time rebuild kits were available, but there was a limited quantity. Not sure there are any left. You can most likely piece together all the needed parts from a hydraulic supply company.
