Miles 1000.00 bucks it pops out of 2nd gear periodically, haven't seen it in person, but from pictures looks pretty clean just wondering if piping out of gear,
Can be fixed relatively easily/inexpensively I have a gl 1200 and had a small electric fire I don't thing it's worth fixing hopefully insurance will total it

Easily depends on your skill level. Inexpensive depends on how you value your time.
If you took it to shop to have that fixed it would not be cheap, if you could even find a shop that would take on the job. My guess is a bent or worn shift fork. So that means engine out and split the case. In addition the shift forks are no longer available so find a used part or refurbish the bad one. For sure the cost of the repair would exceed the value of the bike at this time. A used engine swap is probably the lowest cost fix. The best option is to just keep looking, or live with the problem.
