My new to me 95 GL1500 Aspencade

Post by tedluker5152 »

Picked up my 95 model with 67K 2 weeks ago. The bike set for two years so when I got it home I figured I would go ahead and base line the bike. So far I have changed the timing belt, and plugs. The left fork seal was leaking so I put new bushings and seals in the forks. Next is to rebuild the front brake calipers since one of those is hanging up. I guess then will be the drive shaft. I have only taken a short ride on the bike but already love it. Also my wife is in love with the passenger seat compared to what she is used to. I'm sure I will be on here looking for advice on other improvements I will want to make. Everyone be safe.

Sounds similar to me..
Bought a 95 on auction ( didnt have time to inspect as only saw it late)
Won the auction and went to collect last week. Looked as good as the pics but had been sitting for10 months and not ridden a lot prior to that.
Brakes were poor on the trip home (30 mins) but fell in love with the bike immediately. Have since bled brakes and done oil change.. much better.
Thank you to this site for the excellent vids on how to do ..
Timing belt next ...
Have been riding for many many years on various bike but still feel I need learn this bike.. Mrs loves it on the back ( compared to the BMW R1100)

Roll on some cruising :)
Cheers
