The day finally arrived when my Dad's bike, my inheritance after his passing, became roadworthy again and moved under it's own steam. It's a bittersweet feeling, but after riding it, becoming more comfortable and more familiar with it, I can see why Dad loved it so much. Fully fixed, fully fuelled, and fully insured it's time for me to continue Dad's legacy and keep his dream alive, and discover my own dreams, by riding often and doing the one thing that he never got a chance to....tour!
Many thanks to this forum and it's wonderful and helpful members for all the advice and helpful suggestions in getting it back on the road. Now it's time to enjoy and discover the wonders of this country on the Goldwing.

Re: A new chapter begins
I can in some ways understand your emotional state.
My dad ingrained in me the love of motorcycles, when as a 10 year old he told me stories of his youth and love of riding.
I got a GL1200 from him when he quit riding.
Now after almost 60years of "life behind bars" (great line) I think of him often when riding my new to me 1500.
Ride on sir!
