I have a 1988 gl1500 without schrader valves in the fork caps, can I change the fork oil without removing the forks from the triple trees? And if so, what steps are involved in refilling the forks with fork oil? Also, what’s the reason mine wouldn’t have the valves? Model year? Trim package? Any info is appreciated, I’m assuming the fork oil has never been changed and am experiencing dive when first getting on the motorcycle or pushing it around the garage, fork seals seem to be good and aren’t leaking.
1988 gl1500 32k miles.

SE models had the valves. Yes you can change the oil by removing the caps. See the How-To section for more details.
