Intake manifolds torque sequence etc.

Post by magfo »

Does anyone know the tightening sequence for the intake manifold bolts on the gl1500? Maybe there is not a specific sequence and if thats the case, how would you do it?

The manifold-to-head bolts are 6x35mm flange bolts with 10mm heads. Would 12 nm (9 ft-lb) be the right torque value here?

I also need to clean both surfaces were the manifolds meets the engine block. What product and tool(s) would be convinient?

Thank you!

Looks like 3.6 ft/lbs in no particular sequence.

Thank you DenverWinger. I might be wrong but to me those torque specs is refering to the screws attached on the carburetor insolator?

Any past experience of working with the intake manifolds would be very helpful. Anyone?

How about a tightening sequence like this:
