I recently acquired a 95 Wing GL1500 from my Bro-in Law. The bike has set for some time, and he mentioned that at some point the bike would no longer start. His guess was perhaps the kill switch might be bad. I have charged the battery (which may need replacing) and the engine does indeed crank over very well, but no sign of starting. Not having much (or any) experience with wings, perhaps there are some tips where to start first. As my dad used to say, "its is usually something simple". Thanks in advance.
FYI, I do have experience working on bikes growing up and was a Motorcop for 5 years.

Re: GL1500 Cranks but no start.
The kill switch is a common failure point. However, the most common issue with the 1500 is the battery. It has to be near perfect for the 1500 to start. It can spin over no problem but there won't be any spark until you let off the start button. While you can coax it into starting that way, it requires everything else to be perfect. Get a new battery and fully charge it before chasing your tail with starting problems.
Since the bike sat, you may have to go through the carbs before it will run properly.

What Rambozo said: I know through experience not wanting to admit you must buy a $100 battery wastes a lot of time but should be the first thing to change out.
