Final drive spline
I pulled my rear wheel to install a new tire. I found the spline looked about 80% worn out. One of the O rings was not there, spline was dry. The drive flange is easy to replace. How do I replace the female spline? Do I need a replacement rear gear box ? If I go with used parts do I have to get splines from the same bike? Just an idea what if I pack the spline with JB weld and reassemble?

Yes, you will have to replace the final drive. Depending on the actual wear, just getting the proper moly paste lube in there may keep you going, if you caught it in time.
If yours is worn that badly, it would be best to change both final drive and drive flange. From the same bike would be ideal, but not required.

Re: Final drive spline
Thanks for answering my questions. I found some used gear boxes but the final drive spline is not included. The cogs on mine are almost gone. I surprised it was not slipping.

Re: Final drive spline
Just went through the same thing myself.
There is no way to repair or replace the spline.
Go on Ebay and find another low mileage rear end.
Be sure to buy one where the seller provides a high definition picture
of the spines in the rear end. You don't want to end up with another
rear that is as bad as yours is.

I found one on the internet. I'm thinking it's within 50 miles of me. Hopefully I can go look at it before buying it. I'm in Akron ohio if any one knows of a salvage motorcycle place in the rubber city.

Give Pinwall Cycle a call, they are not far from you and typically have a very good selection of parts.
