Harley slip-ons

Post by Gordcode4 »

Well I did it. Put a set of Harley tour masters on the wing. Went well, looks good, sound cool. Not too loud, a cool little rumble. I know the traditionalists will not like them. That’s OK.

A bit of the back story. The PO somehow bent the muffler at the bracket causing the pipes the be uneven and twisted. It was driving me crazy. I tried to fix it many different ways but could never get them symmetrical. So I got myself a pair of Tour masters cheap.
Go to YouTube and look up “goldwing with Harley pipes” a blue 1990.

When my chrome mufflers (resonators) were getting to loud I used the dollar store stainless steal lint traps inside the rear.
Some use (woodworking) s.s. wool but I found it clogs up rather quick.
All that's needed is a slight back pressure, doesn't harm the bikes performance.

Best one you can take apart and form to fit or tailor to your rumble 8-)
The worst one falls apart to easily, I tried it = BAD.

I have the same Tourmasters and they're OEM.
HD dude didn't like the silence... said something about 'Peer Pressure' and 'Acceptance'.

google search didn't find anything to reference. are these off an ultra classic? Looks like more recent models have different pipe diameters, but older ones appear to be viable.

FB Marketplace, pair $20 NEW!!!
Inlet is the right size but straight.
Needs about 30 degree turn which when I need to install will weld up that piece.
Auto part store bent pipes makes the muffler stick way out he rear.
