GL1500 Headlamp and bulbs

Hi all, does anyone know the reason for this and are all 1500 headlamps the same or is this only found on continental ones

Looking into the headlamp with bulbs removed, on the left one there is a dome shaped reflector, but not on the right one, see photos

When you work the dipswitch, the right lamp beam moves vertically and the leftlamp beam moves horizontally, which I find wierd, this is a French market model.

Whilste writing I have fitted these LED bulbs, no heat sinks except the very thick alloy body and no fans I thought these bulbs would last a few days, but I'm wrong, they've been in for a few months now and give a beam pattern similar to the halogen bulbs.
