Spring and small ballbearing

Post by harry37 »

Hi all

To complete a job I needed to open left hand switch gear and a small spring and ballbearing fell out,I believe these may have something to do with the choke.

Any advice or guidance as to what these are and how to install them would be really appreciated.

Everything is still working.

Thanks and take care.

It is part of the switch detent - several of them have a spring and ball bearing in them. Figure out which of the switches in the left hand cluster is no longer working properly.

Check the turn signal switch. It sounds like it to me. The spring pushes the switch back out when you use the push to cancel function. If it is, clean out the old Dielectric grease and put some new in there. It will make the switch work much smoother.

Thanks
I didn't think of the switches I thought it was from the choke lever as I have researched to this link, my choke doest have a ballbearing in it as detailed in the text below

There is a ball bearing in the choke lever I assume its sprung loaded. This may be it has stuck. You can just about see it in WingAdmins post second photo

Do you know how to reinstall the ballbearing and is it spring loaded?

Thanks again, I'd be lost without this site.
