Thermostat coolant temperature sensor part

Post by harry37 »

Firstly, I would be lost without this site, great source of useful information.

I can't find a part number for the thermostat coolant temperature sensor. NOT the one in the radiator but the one in the thermostat housing.

I've tried to attach a picture hope it works.

Thanks everyone

Hi Do you know what sealant should be used for the thermo denso unit?

My manual says honda sealant, which isn't really helpful.

Thanks

It's tapered pipe thread, so just about anything will work. It does need to get a ground connection so Teflon tape wouldn't be my first choice, (but it would probably work, too). Loctite has a number of sealers that would do the job, the blue loc n seal even comes pre-applied on some of these. Hylomar, Permatex #2 or #3 or any of their thread sealants. Just about any gasket sealer. Pipe dope, RectorSeal, even a drop of motor oil just to prevent galling. You get the idea.
