Hello everyone,
I have a hairline crack on the top of my trunk where one of the chrome luggage rack bolt meets the plastic.
I want to put some kind of epoxy on the inside of the trunk to stop the spread.
Want to get it early before it gets any worse.
Any help would be appreciated.
Keith

Trunk is ABS. Use 1/16th inch ABS sheet, 2X2 square and glue to underside. Only have to worry about the surface hairline crack if you are going to paint. Had lots of theses when I painted my ex-1500, The trunk had some fairly large ones. Trunk lid with crack fixed and trunk lid painted:

I used fairly thick lexan (just under 1/4", because that's what I had available), glued to the inside with JB-weld plastic-weld epoxy.
I sanded the lexan to get a good close fit, and made them as large as possible (I think closer to 3" x 3", I'd have to go look to refresh my memory if you really want to know).
I did this last year, I'm happy with the result so far.

Thank you for the advice.
I am glad there are people here that have done this before.
Glad I found this website.
I am sure I will be coming back for more advice as time goes on
