Goldwing 1500 Radio Problems. Please Help!

Post by LickitySplit »

Hello Goldwing RIders,

I am new to Two days ago, I bought a "new to me" 1995 25th Anniversary Goldwing 1500 SE. I love everything about this bike, except for what is a major issue to me!

My problem: The radio will not tune in the decimal points in the radio frequency (i.e. 102.7)! It will only seek and tune to whole numbers without any decimals (i.e 90.0, and advancing the tuning or using the seek/scan features only results in it stopping on a whole number like 101.0). Almost no channels transmit on the whole numbers; everything else is 98.9, 100.7, etc.

I cannot and refuse to ride on what is supposed to be the Lexus of motorcycles, when the radio will not even tune correctly, or maybe, if I am lucky, find two channels of talk radio on the FM band, if at all. The radio/audio system is part of the Goldwing's mystique, styling, and provides the freedom to blast your favorite tunes as you run errands or put 2K miles on a road trip. Can you imagine hours and hours on a trip with nothing to listen to except the wind and road noise? I hate to put it so blunt and candidly... But, this sucks!

Any information, direction on where to find the fix, or if you had and fixed the same problem would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your time and hopefully your help!

Keep 'er shiny-side up!!!
