Oil Pressure indicator doesn't light

Post by mraidanlove »

I bought my 1998 GL1500 SE in March, and I've recently noticed that the oil pressure indicator light doesn't come on when the bike is first started when all the indicator lights are supposed to. I have replaced the bulb (I replaced all the dash light bulbs), but I haven't done any serious troubleshooting yet. Looking for advice on where to start.

Ground the wire at the oil pressure sensor(switch). If the light comes on the sensor is bad.

Thank you! The oil pressure sensor was slightly disconnected.... because the plastic outer-most housing of the sensor was cracked apart, so there wasn't an electrical connection made. As a short-term bandaid, I was able to shove the boot for the connected harder on and it is now working.
