Can I put a different rear tire
Thinking about getting a 150/80/16 Dunlop 404 for rear, 1990 gold wing se?

The load rating on that tire is a little on the light side for a half ton Wing.

Load rating is very important on the GL 1500, it's a 886 lb bike. Then you must add in riders & all the gear they need on a trip. This is one of the reasons I went to the Darkside.

If you ride 2 up and carry almost any thing your over Honda's recommended eight limit anyway. The GL1500 Manual for years '88 thru '00 reads: The combined weight of the rider, passenger, cargo, and additional accessories must not exceed the maximum weight capacity: 185kg (408 lbs.). Cargo weight alone should not exceed 60 lbs.
