1989 Honda GL1500.
What part is this? Is mounted on cowl stay. Could be IAT sensor? It is not connected anywhere... Where should it connect to the 1989 GL1500 model. I have no documentation for this year. Thank you.
What part is this?

This is a total SWAG, but wondering if your bike is a California model? If so, that part may be a piece of the original charcoal canister vent system which has been deleted by a PO it could also be a non California model but equipped with that hose just in case. Dont know.

Re: What part is this?
Hello.
I don't know if it is a California model. All I know it was 2009 imported in EU, has three PO in DE and is mine now, in RO. It figure to be sensor temp for 1989 GL1500K Cali model here: https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-gl1500-gold ... F++45.html and, the same, sensor temp for 1989 GL1500K Japan model here: https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-gl1500-gold ... /0198.html
So, if it is a sensor temp, I think is Air Temperature Sensor or (maybe) IAT sensor (there is no sensor in air filter compartiment), where it should have been connected (electrically speaking)?

They used that same sensor to measure air or water temp on a ton of bikes.

Re: What part is this?
Yes, I understand this is a temperature sensor, but why is this sit here, not connected. It is an "old style" air temperature sensor? And why not inside air box as I've seen in '94 schematics that I found/have?

Re: What part is this?
It is being used as an air temp sender. Measuring ambient air. 88 and 89 are strange bikes.

Re: What part is this?
Back again.
I dismantled the carburetors and found about three cracked vacuum hoses. These were replaced. I searched in more detail to discover where that air temperature sensor should be connected. I found on the plug where this sensor should have been connected to the carburetor control unit, 2p-wht plug with GRN/BLK and GRY colored wires, that a solenoid was connected with the same type of plug but with BLK/LT-GRN and RED/BLK wires that correspond to the Shot Air Solenoid Valve (I supose fron a diagram that a found on internet). Where should I find the connection plug in the electrical installation of this solenoid? What is that white plastic box that is connected with a vacuum hose to this solenoid valve that is hang by black plastic collar? Thank you.

Re: What part is this?
I don't understand what you mean by "not connected". Are you talking about the other end of the wire?
You need to use the 88-89 wiring diagram as the later bikes are very different.

Re: What part is this?
That means "not connected" for TA Sensor. At his port is connected the Shot Air Solenoid Valve (neutral). I do not find the connector (female) for the last one...
