Hitachi alternator parts

Post by 4given »

Does anyone know if/where I can get brushes for this Alternator?
I’m pretty sure I can find bearings but I’m coming up empty as far as brushes or rebuild kit.

Have you checked with your local alternator repair shop? If they don't have a line on one it probably isn't made but I venture to say it is available and that would be the easiest way to get it.
Try to learn from the mistakes of others..... you won't live long enough to make them all yourself!

These are the folks you should be talking to. Take it in and let them look at it. They may offer a rebuild job cheap enough that it would make no sense to do it yourself.

Thanks rider. I don’t know how I missed that but they look like the right brushes.

I agree but the only local shop that I know of in my area that I would trust I can’t get to answer the phone and his shop was locked up when I stopped by. Thanks for good advice swagonmaster.

Just a follow up on the Hitachi alternator. Thanks to Rider I ordered brushes from Cyclemax and found bearings on line. Reassembled and all is well. Thanks again rider.
