On my '99 1500 SE, the rear brake/brake pedal has become almost ineffective at times.
Most times I practically have to stand on the brake pedal to slow the bike down.
The single hand operated front brake does more than the two pedal operated brakes.
The pads are good.
There is clean brake fluid in the rear master cylinder.
The pedal feel is good and hard, no sponginess, and pedal height is up where it belongs.
It's almost like something is plugging the system blocking pressure from getting to either of the brakes.
Anyone else ever experienced this?
Any idea what to look for?
Thanks guys!!

Re: Rear brake? Help!
The old rubber brake lines can swell with age and can cause this. I would crack the bleeder and see how much pressure you're getting out of the rear pedal master. You could compare that to what you see if you crack the banjo at the master cylinder. If you see much more pressure at the master than at the caliper, then you may well have a blockage.

Thanks Scott. I'll check that next time I have the bike in the shop.
Another question, Scott.
Does anyone still make the braided stainless brake lines for this bike?

I was going to suggest HEL as well. Even if they don't have them (which they do), they will make custom lines for you if you give them your specs.
