Anybody ever eliminate the linked braking?

Just curious if there is a way to eliminate the rear brake pedal controlling the front brake? Anyone ever tried?

I haven't but read a few years ago it's not recommended. Goldwings are heavy with a fair amount of mass weight to stop. Once it goes out of control that mass does continue. It's that 'mass in motion' thing.
Of course it can be done with a cap if you can find the proper hose end thread.
I've grown up on separate brakes, fore & aft, and understand the control you have of each end but after my couple panic stops I'm learning the 'linked' reason. Rear brake for near balanced breaking power then use the front for extra stopping control.
I've learned long ago 'the feel' of front wheel lost traction. I can feather the front brake lever for varying traction situations, dry, wet, fresh rained oily roads, snow, rocks, etc.. Same feathering for rear but since linked,... well, I'd be repeating.
Without offering you the answer you seek, hopefully it's something to ponder.

Just curious. I really don't care for technology that "helps" me. I'd rather be in control. I just wondered if there was a reasonably simple way to direct the front brake lever at both front calipers and cap off the rear master cylinder to only go to the rear brake.

I am sure there is, but I am SO tired of screwing with the brakes after all the time I have spent with the rebuild so far, that I will just leave it as is.

I, along with a bunch of others, have delinked our brakes. It isn't that difficult, remove and plug the line from the rear master cylinder that runs to the left front caliper. Run a line from the front left caliper to the front master cylinder using a double banjo bolt. I've made it sound easy and it is, as long as you have some mechanical ability and knowledge.

By the way, I love being delinked.

While I personally disagree with the concept, IIRC, most all the trike conversions do this. There was a fairly recent thread on this same subject.

As said, several have, really not that hard on the 1500.
Truthfully, if you can't figure it out on your own, you probably should not be messing with the brakes.
It is just plugging one line (the "front" brake line from the rear master) and adding a bolt and another line (a double banjo bolt and line over to the other front caliper).

I did not mind the linked brakes on my 1500.
I hated them on my 1800. It was way overly complicated and poorly designed, nothing but issues from them for almost the entire run of the 5th gen. Multiple recalls on them with many still having issues.
I had nothing but issues with the rear brake system on mine, rear brake was almost useless at low speed due to pedal pulsing (rotor was fine, recalls done, system bleed multiple times), and was one of the main reasons I decided to not buy they bike back from the insurance company after it was totaled.

The linked brakes on my BMW K1600 are amazing and love them.

Does anyone happen to have a list of parts (or specs) of what it takes to delink the brakes?

1) what is used to plug the line at the master cylinder? (size, part number?)

2) what size brake line is used to run from the hand brake to the front caliper?

3) what size (or p/n) is the double banjo bolt?
