left side gas leaking

Post by aagostino »

Hi, I have a leak from a round black piece on the left side.
I can not find the part number.
May someone help find it?
GL1500I - 1993
Thank you so much.
Atilio.

My 99 doesn't have that black plastic part but it looks like a charcoal or some sort of emissions vapor recovery.

I apologize we had an emergency situation and I had to go
Like Bonnie & Clyde said not on our year Wings
Hopefully the OEM part finders for 93 will have it
Take Care

If I look at the OEM part for a 93
Canister ( Calif only )
Part number 17300-MT2-741
Valve Assy.

Like B&C said part of emission system

I Googled Honda part 17300-MT2-741 and as Rambozo said no longer available
I scrolled down and saw JustAnswer.com had some information which I read, maybe your answer for a fix is there ?

My answer to that would be to rip that whole system out, including the canister, and just seal the tubes off. But in some localities, that may be illegal, and might cause it to fail inspection (if you have inspection, and they are specifically looking for evaporative/emissions canister systems). We don't see those systems over here in the US. (well, except for California, and they are an exception to everything)

You have a California emission equipped bike which those valves are only found on. That system is for fuel vapors only, no raw gasoline. So you more likely have a carb flooding problem on one or both carbs which will cause gas in line and absent that if a valve is defective it can allow manifold vacuum to suck the raw gas out of the carbs.
