air suspension

Post by grimreaper615 »

how would I go about checking the air system for leaks. will it charge up with the bike not running? or does it have to be running to get it to pump? also it looks like there's a spot in the right bag to manually pump the shock. I don't know if that's normal or not? but I'm trying to get her factory again. I'm in the process of replacing my ujoint and figured while I'm in here going to fix a few things. really don't want to spend over 500 to 600 for rear shocks if I don't have to. any help would be appreciated.

The bike has to be running, in neutral.
The pump won't run in with the bike in gear.
You have to hold the "P Check" button and push either "increase" or "decrease".
The pressure should show on the LCD screen in the center of the dash.
George in Jersey.

This is from the owners manual. The last pic is for the Interstate model

The engine doesn't have to be running and the bike can be in gear. I also thought it did until I read the manual and tried doing it w/o the bike running.

The bike should be on the center stand
