Left front cover that covers the brake caliper and disc
Good afternoon.
My left front caliper/brake rotor cover came of and went some where down road. Did not notice it until I got to Lowe's this afternoon.
I have attached pictures of the area. There appears to be a hole in the the fender where a tab would be pushed into the fender to hold the new cover in place.
Is there a rubber grommet of something that goes in there?

Partzilla does not have the cover.
Its the chrome looking by the way.

Those are becoming REALLY expensive on Ebay these days. $80-ish each.
I find that the grommet gets pushed inward when installing. Need to feel a 'SOFT POP', tells you it's seated properly. I've used weatherstrip adhesive to keep it solid, it works.
I've been sticking a piece of electrical tape along the top seam as a JUST IN CASE thing, so far so good. Really can't see it unless you look. Elec. tape come in colors.

Looks like I am missing part of the front fender as well?
Looking at the right side there is a small piece that is locked into place and left side it’s missing.
Just noticed that.

A 14 inch fish leader with swivel thru the part and the metal bracket that holds the brake line will save new part if it flys off again.
Do the same on other side.
Can NOT be seen as part covers up the fishing leader when on.
That is what I did to mine.
Cyclemax has the front fender covers with grommets but no rotor covers.....
Take Care

OH... rotor cover. I see there's a piece left on the lower front screw, it must have bumped something.
I was on FB marketplace today and seen a few chrome covers. Sorta fair priced.

What the fishing leader looks like
I ran it thru the bracket with HEL braided brake line

I took both my chrome rotor covers off and left them off. I find the bike looks better without and I like being able to quickly check the brakes and do any maintenance required.

If it is the rotor cover you need, they can be found pretty easily on Auction sites but they are not cheap. Your bike is a 1995 GL1500 right? The rotor covers for the 1988 through 1997 are different from the 1998 to 2000. Cyclemax has the newer covers in chrome for $127.45 a pair. Looking at your picture, I see that the forward socket head screw for the rotor cover is still in place but there is no rear screw.KAW1185 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 1:43 pm Good afternoon.

Also, are you needing the small fender cover as well? Those are available from Cyclemax in chrome. They come with new grommets and sell for $117.02 a pair. If you want color matched covers, they are very expensive IF you can find them.

Re: Left front cover that covers the brake caliper and disc
Where can I find a new rubber grommet for this?
Might Partizilla have it?
Thanks again for your help.

The grommet is part number 64266-MG9-770. Yes, Partzilla should have it but the shipping for just the grommet may be cost prohibitive. Call your dealer and ask if they can get one for you.
