Trunk closed
Trunk closed
While I was working on the trunk light ,I didn't realize that the lock mechanism had become disconnected , and I had closed the lid before I remembered that. There was a post earlier on how to get into the trunk, help.

Re: Trunk closed
It depends on how and where it was disconnected. Sometimes you can just use the key. You can search here for more info. From the easy bent coat hanger method to the extreme drilling holes in the trunk.

WingsandthingsThank you for the above link, made a coat hanger hook and tried it out. took about 5 tries before I got the hand of unlatching trunk. Put coat hanger in passanger pocket, now I can quit worring about locking keys in trunk.

Re: Trunk closed
You could also tape a spare key somewhere on the bike out of sight. Takes only a minute to retrieve the key and unlock things. However, a spare key will not help at all if the latching mechanism has been messed with. That little coat hanger will be a big help if you ever take the latching mechanism apart for some reason and then close the trunk before it is ready to be closed.Riley1841 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 8:37 am viewtopic.php?f=14&t=23051

I agree but having a plan B is a good idea too.
