I have a 1995 Aspy I recently bought and the LCD was not working. I assumed that it had gone out like so many others. So I got a dash off of another 95 that supposedly worked. I plugged it in and everything does work - except the LCD
My question is - where else can I check connections, wiring or fuses/relays that might affect this? I am hoping that maybe the LCD itself is NOT bad and that somewhere in the wiring is the problem. But I am STUMPED.
And I definitely cannot afford to buy a $400 new unit and find the same problem.
I didn't swap anything yet. For testing purposes I simply plugged in the entire new dash. It gives the same results as the original one. Everything works but the LCD.
Now the radio won't work. It was working. I checked all the fuses - they all looked good and toned out with the multi-meter. I replaced the speakers because the old ones were bad, and I know they are plugged in, plus the rear ones aren't working either and I didn't touch them.

After fiddling with some grounds and the radio connections, I HAVE LCD! The "new" old one works! But the one that come on the bike was indeed bad. Air shock even works now!
THANK YOU for the help!!
NEXT PROBLEM - Radio works, shows up on display, but no sound from speakers. As I mentioned, I replaced the speakers and have double checked the wires and all is good there. The speakers I used were Pyle 4ohm speakers. I even pulled them out and attached a different speaker and no sound. Not even any sound from the rear speakers.

It all used to work before.
Any ideas?
Check the fader. Is it factory Honda or aftermarket? Many of the aftermarket ones are not all that weatherproof. A little contact cleaner like Deoxit sprayed into them can get them going again. One test you can do is to unplug the fader and just plug in the front speakers and see if they work that way. The radio only has two speaker outputs and it's up to the fader to split that into four.
I think you nailed it (again). I disconnected plugs and put wires directly to them and they worked, so I'll do some cleaning and it will all be good as new.
THANK YOU. I am wrapping up a rebuild of a 95 that I bought that needed a TON of work. I should be done in the next day or two. I will post pics.
