93 Interstate radio issues
I have a 1993 Interstate and I'm having issues with the radio. This is a bike I bought about a month ago, and I'm going through it - getting towards the end. This bike doesn't have the display in the dash, there is a small LCD display on the radio itself. The LCD lights up when I turn the igntion on, but the radio does not work, and there is no clock in the display either. Nothing shows up on the LCD display, and none of the buttons on the radio do anything. I have checked the fuses and they are good. Do you have any other ideas on where to look?

Re: 93 Interstate radio issues
It should be a Panasonic RM-G40P radio. I had a very similar problem with mine. I had to send it to Sierra Electronics to have it repaired, that's what they are known for. They charged $120.00 to fix whatever is wrong with it. I think they charge $140.00 now but, they do good work and quick turn around. They are well known for motorcycle radio repairs. Check them out at sierraelectronics.com for much info or you can see if they can give you more info as to what to check next.

Those who say it cannot be done should try not to interrupt those who are doing it.

It is indeed the Panasonic RM-G40P. Is this a common problem with this radio? Any other thoughts on what I can check? Has anyone ever attempted to repair the radio themselves?
