LCD - out-of-the-box ideas

As many of us do, I have an LCD that occasionally does weird things like the clock runs fast, etc. (Or maybe the bike is an actual time machine - I haven't checked that yet)

I know about the solution of cleaning and coating the PCB but have read a few folks who did that and it did not solve the problem. So I thought maybe this would be a thread of off the wall ideas that may have not been considered yet.

It sounds to me like keeping moisture out of the area of the PCB may be the issue so:

1) What about mounting a computer case fan up in the dash that runs all the time?
2 What about a small bag of desiccant?

Please throw out any ideas you may have. Maybe we can find an easier way of solving this problem...?
