Alternator question

My cheap Chinese alternator failed. I do have a compufire alternator to install. I'm not 100% sure that the indicated connection should go to ground. Pretty sure it does but want to make sure

Yes, that goes to ground, it is the CB noise filter.
However, I would measure it to make sure it is functional.
I can't find a published spec, but my guess is it would be a few hundred mfd.
If it's bad, it would be open, shorted, or have a high ESR.
