Left front brake line?

Post by offcenter »

I'm changing my brake lines for braided ones.
How the heck do I detach the left front brake line where in goes up above the engine, behind the fairing?
I can barely even see the connection.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

If I recall there is a line fitting and also a small bolt that holds the line to the frame. Even with taking everything off I kind of remember having to bend the connection to the frame out slightly to be able to unbolt it. Maybe just enough to get a wrench on it. It was buried but once took off the right side panel could finally see it. Have an old photo sorry its no tthe best. :D

Yes, I can see where the brake hose is connected, but I can't get at it.
Anyone else have suggestions?

Go to GL1500 DIY articles

GL1500 - braided front brake line installation

Has pictures and may be the help you are looking for

When I did mine I pulled bracket and hoses down just enough to get line wrenches on just like the article states

I hope this helps

Thanks John. We'll see. Right now, I've gone on to other things.
I'll come back to that in a few days.
