rear wheel noise

Post by Tommyboy1983 »

I just had my rear tire replaced. I noticed after we had put the tire back on and all dressed when rotating the wheel in the reverse direction (on center stand) their is a muffled clicking sound.

That could be anything from a bad U Joint, bad/worn splines, or something inside the tire.

You'll need to pin it down a bit better for us to help. Place a long screwdriver at various places and see if you can pick the location the clicking is coming from. Place the handle of the driver against your ear.

Good Luck

thank you. I'll do what I can to try and narrow it down or just replace everything. I was in a bad wreck last year due to head bearings so the slightest noises freak me out a bit still. (not the same bike) it was a 94 1500se

If there is no noise when rotating forward I wouldn't worry about it if it was my bike. I just wouldn't put a lot of millage in reverse,

:D
