Is it an OEM windshield?
Some of the aftermarket screens are thicker, so they won't slide without shimming the mounts a little.

Some aftermarket screens even advertise that they are thicker than the stock. I believe the stock is 4mm thick, while many aftermarket are 3/16". Not a lot of difference, but enough that sometimes they won't slide. You can try loosening the mounting screws and see if that lets it slide. If so, you need to make shims to space the hold downs up a little. Very thin plastic or metal shims cut from a soda can or a milk jug can be enough to do the trick. Also if the rubber sheet has swollen at all, that can make it worse. Again, a shim can fix that. Make sure the clamp levers are adjusted properly, too.

Did you get your windshield to slide up & down ?

Rambozo gave you some great ideas. Those plastic shims out of a milk jug is genius

That big rubber sheet behind the windshield was dry on my Wing at one time so I sprayed a rag with silicone and wiped it, seemed to help with the adjustment

Take Care
