Relay #3

Post by KenClaflin »

1988 Goldwing GL1500 has all the symptoms of Relay #3 being bad but it is not. Temp gauge, fuel gauge, headlights, tach are NOT working. Fuse 8 is good. Relay #3 is good. Signals work, brake lights work, speedometer works.

What do I check next?

Do you have a wiring diagram?
Have you looked for things like rodent damage?
Have you checked the grounds?

Does the engine start?
At night and at 100 it is not noticeable.

The motorcycle runs fine. Starts, goes, speedometer works, brake lights work, signals work.

Sometimes the relays seem to work but they don't. Have you tried moving it and putting one that is really working on something else? Look at the numbers, there are several that are the same. Is fuse number 11 okay?
