Air wings? I found some in the trunk

Post by moliver5757 »

Do I have everything I need here to mount these (minus the screws)? I can't seem to figure out how these mount, thinking I have to drill a panel or two?

Thanks!

Not sure how yours mount

The air wings on my Wing were made by Tulsa, they use the screws under the 2 front pockets. Just one bracket on each side which are made of stainless steel. So no chrome to rust is why I bought them. But yours has extra panels to adjust air to different areas.

See attached pictures

Maybe you won't have to drill holes ?

I apologize for not being much help

I looked thru the For Sale/Wanted section on this website

There is a post

1999 GL1500 Aspencade for sale dated June 01, 2023 by bsavulis

I believe that Wing has a set of air wings like yours that you can see in the pictures

I hope this helps you

I believe your bottom bracket has a rubber plug in the end and it rests against the color part of the bike no drilling needed for it.

I would look at WingAdmin bike for sale pictures and mine to see if you could mount your top bracket under the pockets so you do NOT have to drill into plastic body. Just my thoughts

Take Care

Well, looks like my trike has been fitted with all strange things.
Here are some pictures of those winds.
Fortunatelly you't have to drill anything, they mount in regular attachment holes.

Should you need more info, just call
Regards.

Just remembered something about installation of:
In the upper part, it's fixed under the plastic with OEM screw.
But in the lower part, you'll need a longer M5 screw, and a aproximatelly 6mm thick plastic spacer fitted under the vertical bar, to keep it away from the fairing.
Such spacer isn't showing in the pictures, it's hiden under cross point of vertical and horizontal bars. It's about 12x 5.5 mm diam x 6 mm thick.
