I have had this happen more and more lately. Not every time though. The bike will be idling fine and when I go to put it in reverse, when I hit the starter switch the bike dies. Then I start it up again and fiddle with the lever and then it works fine. I just thought I would run this by you smart people and see what you think this might be.

Reversing, like everything on this motorcycle, is complex. It would be necessary to check, manual in hand, switches, chips, relays, diodes, cables, grounds, etc. With a tester, check and control. Start with the simplest toggle switch, reverse relay and starter switch. In my case I had the problem that when I pressed the button, the reverse gear worked intermittently 3 times and then stuck. It was difficult for me to check everything, clean it and find any disconnected cables. I had the bike disassembled for 1 week and every day I did something. I leave you the reserve circuit, be careful, because if you have a manual from 90 onwards, some parts change places and some cables change color.
