Muffler differences

Post by moarcoffeeplz »

Hello!

Would anyone happen to know if a pre-98 muffler will fit on a 98-00 GL1500 using the same mount points? My hope is to put older mufflers on my 99 using the same mount points.

I think the previous owner punched out the mufflers on my 99. They are way too loud for my liking. And I wasn't sure if I could find a silencer to insert into them.

I agree. They will fit.
My '99 mufflers were rusting out.
So I found a brand new earlier left side, and a lightly used right side.
They went on just fine.
Nice and quiet again.
