I like the idea but I have some questions

Is that a cassette player door on the side ?

Is it needed for room ?

If not, wouldn't it look better if smooth like other side.....

Does it need a cover to get rid of glare during the daytime ?

Is the screen too bright while riding at night ?

Thanks for your time

No buddy it is not a cassette door you need that trim to cover the gap that the original radio leaves you, you can adjust the brightness or even go dark mode, or even blank , take a look at the fotos carefully

Here in Aus the Atota F7 is available through mainstream suppliers so that and other reviews of your choice most welcome!
Looks like they fixed the tax added issue so going to order one today! Now to sort out which unit to buy. So confusing but basically want to play music and stream my phone to the unit. Internal memeory to add my own music would be great!

Don't think so but I don't ride in the rain anymore after over 50years of ridings....and anyway where I live we only get just over a foot of rain a year so not a big issue for me!
I did look at the Carpuride units but can't justify the extra cost now I'm retired.

OK It's arrived and I have assembled all the other bits....
Atoto F7 WE head unit (I know it's not waterproof but I rarely ride in the rain, we only get a foot of rain a year here and the Carpuride unit doesn't work with phone!)
Reversing camera (Why not, should be able to wire it into the reverse so it automatically operates)
Polk DB402 speakers (As the front ones on my wing are no 25 years old)

The adaptor I will say is a great moulding from what must be a new die. Very clean and no mould lines Haven't tried the fit yet but assume it will be good.
Will fit it in the next couple of weeks and hopefully take enough pics to show the process.

Looking good for a great solution to GL1500 entertainment upgrade and with the Atoto F7 as the head unit cheaper than the German offering.

The dealbreaker for me is that it doesn't have standalone navigation and is dependent on a phone.
I would use nav way more than I would ever use a radio or music player.

This is looking like a nice upgrade, but will it work with our Cardo intercoms and mics?
We use our Cardos for everything but navigation. It would be nice to hear voice prompts from the navi in my helmet. I would set up the speakers on the bike but I would rather hear it right in my helmet. Music and navi at the same time with Maps on the display?
This stuff is pretty confusing for me. That's why I am hesitant to take the leap.
Rambozo is that what you mean about it not being stand alone? I'm so confused.
Did you ever stop to think? And forget to start again?

The moulded housing, from GusGioTech in Canada is the enabler to fit any 7inch 2DIN head unit you want that will fit where the radio/cassette unit is.
I went with the Atoto unit as it was cheap and I only really want the radio and music playback through my speakers (my wife very rarely rides anymore duo to health issues).
You can spend a fortune on a branded head unit but why when it's just leisure rides?
I think the Atoto unit will suit me with the disclaimer that I haven't yet done the install. If it doesn't then it goes on facebook marketplace and I find a different unit.

What I mean is that there is no GPS receiver in this unit. So, the nav functions are really done on your phone and sent to the radio. My phone eats the battery if I use nav on it all the time and I really want to have full time nav without having to do anything but get on the bike and ride. Just like most cars have.
Getting everything to work how you want with headsets, might range from difficult to impossible. There aren't good standards for interconnecting a bunch of different devices. Most of the cool ones I have seen were hand built units or just remote phone displays where everything is handled in the phone. Even the Bluetooth that lets you talk to other riders, is brand specific and pretty finicky to get working. I hear some of the headsets can pair with a few devices at once, but I've never tried that. I use a Sena headset, but actually I almost never use it as I forget to charge it since I leave my helmet in the trunk.
