gl 1500 radio upgrade panel and harness

i bought these goodies and can t wait the moment to install them , the panel comes with the harness in amazon it s not 3d printed , probably mold injected cause its amazing flawless , the harness has labels which wires to connect with the radio, and finally the radio i choosed is an atoto F7 with apple carplay and 7'' screen i will upload many fotos i am planning to install them on Saturday

I go back and forth on what I want to do. While it drives me crazy when there is something on my bike that doesn't function 100% correctly,I don't really have any reason to fix it other than that.
But when the weather changes and I get bored....

10x better than unobtanium version, this one is pre-cut for 7" display and has holes to mount the radio
the Unobtanium version doesn't.. contact the seller through the link I'm sure they'll sell direct
my unobtanium one is cracked at the smaller section under the radio.. thickness is not enough or something

That thing is $200. Amazon says can't be shipped to the US. But I sent seller a question asking if the could.

I know nothing about 7'' displays. Could you put a display in there and blue tooth it to your phone and use as a gps? And blue tooth it to a cardo head set?

All depends on the radio you pick. Some don't even need to use your phone for GPS. Airplay, AndroidAuto, both? Lots of options. Same with headsets, play music from phone, bike, both?

I don't even car much about any music. I just want to be able to hear the gps from the airplay in my cardo. Can they connect like that I wonder?

Most car radios take Bluetooth in not out, so you might have to hunt a little or add that feature with a Bluetooth transmitter. Maybe look at Marine radios?

holy crap a 1500 transformed to 2024 info/tainment electronics
i personally think that the 1500 is the best wing they've made
after wrenching bikes for 45 years (retired now),all makes all brands,i am biased towards it
presently owning 81-1100, 76-1000,84-v65 sabre,85-vt750(yes a 750 not a 700) i live in Canada
suzi 82-gs850 n my favorite 77-z50 and 88-1500
this is a gift from the motorcycle gods
also take note for what its worth
on the makers website , they also used the atoto f7

I'm not very good at cad but here are the Fusion 360 files I made. They would not attach as .f3d files so I changed them to .stl. if you download them change .stl back to .f3d and you will be able to open them in Fusion 360. Have fun.

Please tell me it would be as simple as ordering panel from Amazon and a screen

Emailed them to ask if they would direct ship or post on Amazon Australia but no response.......The 1500 was popular in Aus and there is a few potential sales. Why would you go to all the trouble of designing this and not maximise your market?

Just waiting a response to my email to them about the Canadian tax added to overseas orders. In the meantime it would be great if the members who have installed it could give some insights into their choice of 2DIN unit?
